Day 01: Cairo
(No meals) Upon arrival at Cairo International Airport, you will be greeted & assisted by one of Egypt Unexpected tours representatives with formalities through customs & transfer by private mini van to the selected hotel in Cairo. Check-in & Overnight at hotel.
Day 02: Cairo
(B) After breakfast, you will meet your Egyptologist guide at the hotel for a full day tour of Cairo. You will discover the pyramids of Giza and the famous Sphinx. Your tour will end with a visit to the royal burial ground during the old kingdom "Sakkara" you will visit the first proper pyramid built for king Zoser in the 27th century B.C by the architect Imhotep. Overnight at hotel.
Day 03: Cairo / Aswan
(B) Breakfast, then you will meet your guide to start a full day tour to visit the Egyptian Museum, which houses about 250.000 antique pieces including the statues, sarcophagi & the fabulous treasures of Tutankhamun, and then drive to visit the Citadel of Saladin with the Alabaster mosque of Mohamed Ali. Then to the famous Khan El Khalili bazaar (Since the 14th century). After a full day in Cairo, you will be escorted to the Giza railway station to board the 1st class sitting train to Aswan. Overnight on board.
Day 04: Aswan
(No meals) Arrival at the Aswan train station, where you will be met by your Egypt Unexpected representative for transfer to your selected hotel for check in. In the afternoon, you will visit the High Dam and the beautiful temple of Philae. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 05: Aswan / Kom-Ombo
(Optional early morning tour to Abu Simbel by air or road is available).
(B/L/D) Breakfast & check out from the hotel, and then tour the Nile by felucca including visits both Kitchener and Elephantine islands & start sailing by the felucca towards Kom-Ombo. Overnight on board.
Day 06: Kom-Ombo / Edfu
(B/L/D) Early morning sail to Kom- Ombo. In Kom Ombo you will visit the temple of Sobek and Haroeris, the magnificent Ptolemaic temple is in awe-inspiring setting on high ground by the Nile surrounded by sugarcane fields , dedicated jointly to Haroeris, the medicine god, and Sobek, the crocodile god, then relax and admire the beautiful scenery along the Nile while sailing to Edfu. Overnight on board.
Day 07: Edfu / Luxor
(B) Morning you will visit the temple of Horus, the falcon headed god. Then transfer by private mini van to your hotel in Luxor for check in at the selected hotel. In the afternoon depart for visits of the East Bank of Luxor, including the Luxor & Karnak temples. Then relax in your hotel or you can walk through history, ride on a horse-drawn carriage & explore the city of mysteries. Overnight at hotel.
Day 08: Luxor / Cairo
(B) Breakfast, check out & depart for visits of the West Bank of Luxor, including the Colossi of Memnon, Temple of Queen Hatchepsut, Valley of the Queens and the Valley of the Kings. Then you will be escorted to the Luxor railway station to board the 1st class train to Cairo. Overnight on board.
Day 09: Cairo
(No meals) Morning arrival at the Giza train station, where you will be met by your Egypt Unexpected representative for transfer to your hotel in Cairo. Check in. And rest of the day free at leisure or join one of or optional tours. Overnight at hotel.
Day 10: Cairo
(B) After breakfast you will be transferred to Cairo international airport for the final departure (End of Services). |
