Day 01: Cairo
Upon arrival at Cairo International Airport, you will be greeted & assisted by one of Egypt Unexpected tours representatives with formalities through customs & transfer by private mini van to the selected hotel in Cairo. Check-in & Overnight at hotel.
Day 02: Cairo/ Aswan
After breakfast, you will meet your Egyptologist guide at the hotel to depart for a full day tour of Cairo. You will discover the pyramids of Giza and the famous Sphinx. Your tour will end with a visit to the royal burial ground during the old kingdom "Sakkara" you will visit the first proper pyramid built for king Zoser in the 27th century B.C by the architect Imhotep. After a full day in Cairo, you will be escorted to the Giza railway station to board the sleeper train to Aswan. Dinner and Overnight on board.
Day 03: Aswan
Morning arrival at Aswan train station, where you will be met by your Egypt Unexpected representative for a transfer to your selected hotel for check in .In the afternoon, you will visit the High Dam and the beautiful temple of Philae. Rest of the day free, you can explore the Souk of Aswan which is full of the scent & colours of spices, perfumes, scarves & baskets, view the spectacular sunsets while having tea on the terrace of your hotel. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 04: Aswan / Nasser Lake Cruise
Breakfast and check out from your hotel, then you will be transferred to your Lake Nasser Cruise before lunch which will be your home for the next three nights. Lunch on board. Visit to Kalabsha temple, Beit El Wali, and the kiosk of Kertassi. Afternoon tea is served in the lounge, Dinner & Overnight on board in the Aswan Harbour.
Day 05: Nasser Lake Cruise
Sailing to Wadi El Sebo'a and cocktail while passing the Tropic of Cancer Lunch served on board. Visit to Wadi El Sebo'a temple, the temple of Dakka and temple of Meharakka, and then sail to Amada .Dinner & Overnight on board.
Day 06: Nasser Lake Cruise / Abu Simbel
Breakfast followed by morning visit to the temples of Amada and Derr as well as the tomb of Penout. Sail to Kasr Ibrim Visit the citadel of Kasr Ibrim. (Tour is conducted from the ship's sundeck as entrance to the site is not permitted). Sailing to Abu Simbel. Lunch served on board.
Visit the Abu Simbel temples. Attend the Sound & Light show at Abu Simbel temples (non-compulsory, ticket not included). Candlelight dinner on board and overnight.
Day 07: Abu Simbel / Aswan
Breakfast on board and for those who wish the possibility of a second visit to Abu Simbel (entrance ticket is not
included). Disembarkation & transfer by private mini van to Aswan, check in upon arrival at your hotel in Aswan. In the afternoon tour the Nile by felucca including visits both Kitchener and Elephantine islands. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 08: Kom-Ombo & Edfu
Early morning breakfast & check out to travel further to Kom- Ombo. In Kom Ombo, visit the temple of Sobek and Haroeris, the magnificent Ptolemaic temple is in awe-inspiring setting on high ground by the Nile surrounded by sugarcane fields, dedicated jointly to Haroeris, the medicine god, and Sobek, the crocodile god. Then drive to Edfu. In Edfu, you will visit the temple of Horus, the falcon headed god. Overnight at the selected hotel in Luxor.
Day 09: Luxor
Breakfast and free morning. In the afternoon depart for visits of the East Bank of Luxor, including the Luxor & Karnak temples. Then relax in your hotel or you can walk through history, ride on a horse-drawn carriage, sail in a felucca, or explore the city of mysteries. Overnight at hotel.
Day 10: Luxor / Cairo
Breakfast & check out from your hotel. Then depart for visits of the West Bank of Luxor, including the Colossi of Memnon, Temple of Queen Hatchepsut, Valley of the Queens and the Valley of the Kings. Then you will be escorted to the Luxor railway station to board the sleeper train to Cairo. Dinner and Overnight on board.
Day 11: Cairo
Morning arrival at the Giza train station, where you will be met by your Egypt Unexpected representative for transfer to your hotel in Cairo. Check in at your hotel, and after freshening up you will meet your guide to start a full day tour to visit the Egyptian Museum, which houses about 250.000 antique pieces including the statues, sarcophagi & the fabulous treasures of Tutankhamun, continue your visit to the Citadel of Saladin with the Alabaster mosque of Mohamed Ali. Then to the famous Khan El Khalili bazaar (Since the 14th century). Overnight at hotel.
Day 12: Cairo
After breakfast you will be transferred to Cairo international airport for the final departure (End of Services). |
